After an appliance deployment, we can configure replications in both the directions. You can use this process in case you required to replicate from the cloud to the local vCenter or use reverse replication after a failover.
You can protect you VM which is running On-Prem to cloud by using replication. What is replication?
Now replication is the process of copying a Virtual Machine from one location to another (it could be from scratch or seeds). Once the you setup replication then it will creates a copy at a cloud and after that VM will be updated according to changes happening at source side as per schedule/RPO to match the source VM.
There are two types of replication:
Incoming replications
Outgoing replications
First Find out what is your Cloud login URL : example: https://cloud.company.com/tenant/org-name
After that, log in to the tenant vCloud Org, click on the
button and then on Availability.
> Go to the Incoming Replications page and click on from On-Prem. from here you can configure protection for on-premises VMs.
> After that click on New Protection. The New Incoming Replication window will appear.
Here select the VMs which you want to protect.
This is your VDC in cloud where it will replicate.
As per your agreement or SLA with cloud vendor you can select the RPO.
Here you can set the Scheduling. check if you want to start synchronization Immediately or At a specific time. Then, click Next.
Once you click finish it will start replicating your vm into cloud.
