When You Are using vCenter server 6.0 you have multiple choices for the database. Either go with Internal or External and if you are choosing External again you have multiple choices. ( why go with Internal or External already discussed).
Now we will see how to create MSSQL database for vCenter Server.
First Download the Package from Microsoft Website or if you have existing Database server then you can create seperate table for vCenter Server.
Now i my case i don’t have any existing Database, so choosing new installation.
MSSQL installation is easy. (Provide basic details and your installation is done). the main task starts after installation.
Setup
1. VMWare workstation with Virtual Machine
2. Created VM with SQL DB.
3. MSSQL 2012
1. After installation Open the MSSQL program files.
2. Start the MSSQL Managment
3. Provide the Server name and Credential
4. Here you Can See your Database and related folders.
5. Right Click and Create the Database Under Databases you can see you vCenter server database and releated information.
6. After right click you will get pop-up for New database
Provide Database Name
7. Now Go to Security and add the user VCDB From Active Directory or Group
8. Make the vCenter as defualt database and login with user which was created with VCDB
9. Provide the Roles
10. Final Step is User Mapping
